This recipe came from our friend’s mom and it is the best banana bread recipe I’ve made! The bread is moist and dense, the flavor just delicious! You are going to need…
2 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 cup oil
4-6 ripe bananas, mashed
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
8 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons sugar
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Blend all the ingredients together well, except cinnamon and 2 tbsp sugar. The batter will be lumpy and that’s okay! Now comes the fun part!
This recipe makes two regular size loaves. Now because my loaf pans are in a pathetic state, I used disposable ones. They are a bit smaller but work great for freezing and sharing!
Before adding the batter to the pans, you need to spray them and then take the cinnamon and sugar mixed together and sprinkle the entire pan.
See…bottom AND sides! This part is not mandatory…but it makes the bread taste even better!
Now divide the batter equally between the pans (however many you are using. :-)) Sorry for the weird picture…the sun was in a difficult spot. 🙂 Before popping in the oven, sprinkle the tops of all the loaves with the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
Now I’m a little paranoid so I bake them for about 30 mins, then check to see how they are looking. It’s going to take about 50 mins for them to be cooked completely.
And there they are! Just beautiful! I love to slice up one loaf while it’s still warm and put a little bit of butter on it. SO yummy!
You can see this wasn’t my only baking adventure today…I whipped up another couple ofPumpkin Spice Cakesfor after school snack and a church activity we had this evening.
As you can tell from the ingredients…this is NOT what one would call healthy. But that’s okay…it gives you an excuse to share! Invite some friends over, slice up a loaf and enjoy!

Looks oh so good. And what could be more healthy than pumpkin and bananas.
That takes the calories away I do believe.
